News from the Harriman Nielsen Historic Farm

Franklin County Fair Tours
The warm temperatures did not deter over 200 people from touring the Harriman-Nielsen

House during the Franklin County Fair. Many had not been to the house before and enjoyed

learning more about the house and family.

House Restoration Work
The Beeds Mill #639 Questers has completed the house bathroom restoration project.

The worked included restoring the claw-footed tub, replacing the flooring,

repairing the plaster and painting the walls. Improvements were also made

to the front entry. The board appreciates the work done by the local Quester

Restroom Facilities
The new handicap accessible restroom facilities are being constructed at

the farm. The restroom is a much needed addition to the Farm and plans

are to have it completed before the Fall Festival.

Thank You
Special thanks to Glenn Futrell for restoring the hitching post at the Farm.

It is back very close to the original location and ready for use.
